Well,to be honest there really isn’t much. Back home, back to work, packing boxes, whilst counting the days–only five more nights on night duty(hope next month I’m back on days or even being allowed some time off)Yesterday ,late afternoon,I went round to the new house and took oor wullie with me as the owner of my new place has a seven year old, male, brittany spaniel, and I was wondering how the two boys would get on together. Why,oh, why didn’t I take the camera?? They played in the garden for about an hour like a couple of puppies. Oof. Now hopefully his cat and 4 cat gang will get on well together. no doubt it will take three or four days, but ,hey, the garden is big,so each will find there place. Next week oor wullie and 4 cat gang are going on holiday for a few days whilst I move.At last…

welcome back taddoe,
love to see a photo of 4 cat gang but I won’t miss a photo of dugs they seem to be taking over some blogs, glad they got on well together one less stress,
I know what you mean about nights for a few months when I first moved to Lewis I did 3 nights a week at the local care unit (for the elderly), very small only 3 people and a bed in the office so I could take a nap but you nap with your ears open if you know what I mean, local council here only paid for first and last 2 hours of a 10 hour shif on the grounds you would not be needed between midnight and 6 am!!
And of course its between midnight and six a.m when its flat out!!! or at least here its is. I start at 20h30 giving out medication and making sure everybody is well tucked up for the night and usually,I have to change about twenty-twenty five people already. Then of course start the “”round of changes”" properly speaking. Then of course we have to wash all towels and facecloths for the residents overnight;plus all the napkins(really huge bibs)as the woman who does the laundry only looks after clothes during the day. Sheets, pillowcases obviously go to the laundry in Nimes.Sometimes we cannot find time to have our meal:But there again maybe I will be in a hospice like this one day—
gosh taddoe you are run off your feet,
the one I was in only had 3 people, one never called in the night but the other 2, one had nightmares and the other had a tendance to wander, it was due to her wandering that a night shift was set up previously there was no night staff, no laundry duties as day staff did that,
you do a long shift no wonder you are wacked when you get home,
Just a typical night shift in a old folks home/hospice in france–very badly understaffed and underpaid!!If I could get a decent sleep during the day it wouldn’t be so bad–but hey-managed three hours this morning!!! On duty again tonight then off for two nights back on wed and thurs and thats my full month over(144hrs)
Friends in IOM had a Brittany spaniel, she was supposed to be a gundog, but she was just a silly soft mutt and a bit of a nutcase to boot. I hope the latest (and last???) house move goes well:-)
